I was blessed with a daughter on 4/26/12. I’m a new mom who is using this blog space to think through parenting challenges. So often, first-time parents are bombarded by advice–“Oh, your baby’s colicky? You should try this because it worked for me”– or just plain looked-down-upon: “Oh, your baby’s still sleeping in a swing? That can’t be good for their posture.”
It can make one go weak at the knees. And I allowed myself to feel so unsure about every decision I was making regarding my daughter.
And then, I realized, that there would be experienced parents on both sides of any issue I came across: “You’re using the cry-it-out sleep training method? It worked great for us” versus “You’re using the cry-it-out sleep training method? That causes permanent brain damage, doesn’t it?”
So, now, I’m determined to research the issues myself and mindfully decide (with my husband’s help) what course of action will best suit our family.
The blog posts here are simply the bridge between.
